Active Investor Plus Visa - AI+ 2.0

The New Zealand Government announced changes to NZ’s Active Investor Plus Category on 9.2.25.

This signals to the international investment market that NZ is open for business.

These changes from 1st April 2025 will ensure those who engage with investors will extract potentially greater investment on a far greater scale than is currently being achieved. This will finally deliver the economic benefits that the policy was designed to create.

Over the past two years, we have seen a significant number of potential investors discouraged by the investor visa route into New Zealand. These changes to the AI+ settings are a refinement that removes any unnecessary complexity and rewards high-wealth individuals who wish to invest in NZ.

The current settings have been unable to achieve the projected interest, and as such, increased interest and investment into NZ is highly likely.
